WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Linen is like life – beautiful, a little wrinkled at times, and always at its best when treated with care. Here are our best tips to keep your Lovely Linen favourites looking great for a long time.
Our most relaxed series thrive in the washing machine, but they like to be treated gently:
- Wash at max 60°C, preferably with similar colours.
- Use a mild detergent – nothing too strong or scary.
- Tumble dry if you like! It gives that soft, beautifully wrinkled look we love.
- No dryer? Hang to air dry, shake out and stretch lightly while damp.
Tip: Linen is a natural fibre and may “fluff” a little at first – just like wool. It disappears after a few washes (around 3–5).
Want to speed it up? Iron lightly after the first wash to help the fibres set.
When not in use – roll your linen instead of folding it.
Classic is for those who prefer things neat and tidy:
- Wash at max 60°C with similar colours.

- Iron or mangle for that crisp, classic look.
Rustic has character – but clear boundaries:
- Wash at max 60°C with similar colours.

- Want it smoother? Iron or mangle after drying.
Breezy is our durable jute series. It can handle a lot, but not washing machines:
- Do not wash or tumble dry.
- Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth – preferably one of ours.

- Lovely, Misty and Grace – soft, stonewashed, beautifully wrinkled. Feels like a lazy Sunday in fabric form.
- Classic – pressed and slightly stiffer, with that smooth, timeless look. A bit more structured.
- Rustic – thick and textured with a solid, raw feel. Loves contrast and character.
- Breezy – jute, not linen. Natural, tough – and definitely no fan of the washing machine.

Our linen products may shrink by 3–5% when washed – completely normal. Follow our care tips and your linen will stay beautiful, strong and ready for everyday life.
All praise to sunlight – but preferably from a distance
We love the light – after all, it's what makes colours bloom and rooms come alive. But when it comes to linen, a bit of sun caution goes a long way. Our products are made from carefully selected linen, a natural material that breathes, ages beautifully, and develops a wonderfully vibrant texture over time. But like so much else in nature, it’s sensitive to strong sunlight.
If linen is exposed to direct sun for extended periods, colours may begin to fade. This is especially true for darker or dyed shades – they’re a little more vulnerable to the sun’s rays. That’s why we recommend keeping tablecloths, cushion covers or curtains out of direct sunlight for too long. A simple way to help preserve both colour and character for as long as possible.
Have a sunny window that loves your linen textiles? No problem – just draw the curtains occasionally, switch things around, or let them rest in the shade now and then. Linen is durable, but it thrives with a little care. Just like all the things we love.
